  This is our second 3 night stay here, the other was time October 2016.
  We arrived last night, Saturday March 18 ,2017 checked in our room at about 7:30 pm. Everything seemed fine, relaxing in our room, when all of sudden at about 8pm "Kabaaaammm"-sounded like a full band was rehearsing in the room below us. We were in room 222 of the main lodge. After a while I went downstairs to investigate, there was a whole festival booked right below us.
  I asked the front desk how long can we expect this loud, loud music to go on for- he said it was scheduled to go on until midnight!!
  Bear in mind this Resort advertises itself as relaxing, peaceful-but not last night!! The clerk at the front desk wanted to brush me off as fast as he good it seemed, but after my insistence said he would pass the complaint on to management, which was conveniently not available on Saturday night.
  Well it's the next day here , we have still not received any word or apology from the owner or management.
  As for a lot of other reviews complaining about the behavior of the staff , in some cases the owner of a business can be very hard on the staff by insisting they don't spend too much time on anything, and almost cheap with how they are instructed on how to handle customers. They even have an option that if you say "No " to housekeeping, you get a $5 voucher per time for the restaurants at the resort

  Nice rooms, friendly staff and an amazing view of the ocean and rain forest. Beautiful tubs and showers. Nice lounge. All around good place to stay

  Love this place. Have stayed here probably a half dozen times. It's always lovely. The people are great, genuinely friendly, a provide outstanding service generally. The service in the lounge is occasionally a bit slow when they get busy, but it doesn't bother me as I'm usually there to relax and not in a rush...

  This is a tourist trap, we, 3 families stayed there for 1 night, this hotel actually charged us 7 rooms for 1 night on different credit cards. When we called this hotel, they even denied and refused to refund us...IT'S HORRIBLE!!!!!!!
  Three families stayed there one night on May 6th, they charged us 4 nights (should charge 3 nights) , we called them and asked one night refund, they never gave the money back; today, we just found out, the worse thing happened, they actually charged another 4 nights on my friend's card! what kind of hotel this is!!! Yes, it is a black hotel!
  we checked out on May 7th, this hotel stealthily put a small amount of charge on my card even on May 21st, crazy and disgusting!!!
  Now, a 3 nights' bill became a 8 nights' bill, plus a few hidden expenses. This is how Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is doing business and fleecing tourists!!!

  Stayed in April 2017 for two nights. Room was well appointed but we didn't notice until later that one bathrobe was missing, room service menu and green card (used to let them know we are going green and don't require housekeeping while we are here) were not to be found. Called front desk regarding this next morning. They said they'd have housekeeping bring a second bathrobe and that they would let them know we were going green. Second bathrobe never arrived. Other than that stay was nice. We had a gorgeous view from our room.
